Rainboot3 allows you to turn the boring booting procedure into a flashing
multimedia show. Rainboot will be launched at the top of your Startup-Sequence
and then it will show the selected demonstration while your Amiga boots
silently in the background. When the Workbench is loaded, Rainboot will be signalled
so that it can close now its demonstration screen because the Amiga is ready
to use now.
The demonstrations which Rainboot shows are called "configurations" (configs)
because they contain instructions what Rainboot shall do. These configurations
are simple ASCII text files which contain commands and keywords. Rainboot will
parse this text file then and launch the show. So Rainboot is the interpreter
for those configs.
The command set for Rainboot is pretty big. You can do nearly everything you want
with it because Rainboot is script-based. It does only what you want it to do.
You can download a lot of already created configurations for Rainboot from this
homepage. Just go to the downloads. If you can't find
the right one in this extensive archive, read the documentation and create your
own configuration for your unique boot up.
Here are the features of Rainboot:
- Shows IFF-ILBM pictures. All AGA modes are supported but HAM is not
recommended as it messes up with the text output and the fades.
